Winter Roots The valley in my

  • Tagrest ...

Tagrest , the winter of my native Kabylia 16 Wambera starts today and ends on 13 FOURAR . In the Gregorian calendar, winter Berber is the period from November 29 to February 27.

... In writing this article, I think those who do not like winter because of snow. But by the grace of the poets, the season can be sad or beautiful. Each state of mind!

  • sad and monotonous, sometimes ...

A sad winter

Night Snow
The vast plain is white, motionless and speechless.
No noise, no sound, all life is extinguished.
But we sometimes hear, like a mournful complaint
Some homeless dog howling at the corner of a wood.
More songs in the air, under our feet more than stubble.
Winter hit any flowering trees stripped
stand on the horizon
Their bleached skeletons and ghosts.
The moon is large and pale and seemed to hurry.
Looks like she was cold in the big sky austere.
From his dull eyes and scans the earth
And seeing all the desert eager to leave.
Guy de Maupassant

  • But enchanting and generous, always!

... When snow falls on my valley while the long corridor is pleased, of Akbou to Bejaia. From above, the village of Toudja and Mount Ivarissen , used to extreme cold, do not understand why the people of El - Kseur is jubilant.

Basically, Mount Ivarissen

.. . Snow Announces life, she smells the cottages and brings joy. Sorrows, sufferings, miseries were soon forgotten and hearts are filled with hope. It is a sign of abundance.

El Kseur, downtown in the snow
Winter In winter, when snow falls,
The white dog looks beige.

trees will soon be thick
As the summer is over.

birds mark the aisles with their legs
stellate.

soon enough he does day in the garden
quickly on court.

Our Mom would bundle up,
Even the sun, the wind blows.

To a large white man,
Everyone is gaining momentum.

After that snowball fight!
is agitated, shouting, s'assiège.

And then comes the blue nose, dry
To campfire

Plans How Do You Make Sausage Filler Machine

Back to the Island...

I just returned from 10 days in Victoria, where I participated in the filming of new episodes of "Eaux Troubles du Crime - Season 4" ( little reminder here and here).

10 days out of time to spend 12 hours a day with the team. It was a great experience, especially as I found people I had met last year. Philip, the coordinator, which is the first person to be giving me work. Producer, Sylvia, and her companion, Greg, director of the series. And then my girlfriend Catherine, with whom I also did the Webmathon and West we speak French at the beginning of the year, and this was time assistant camera.

Philip and Catherine took place in the "office" production

Last year the office had been installed in a hotel room in downtown Victoria. This year's production had rented a large house in 20min drive from downtown, in the countryside to house the office but also to host Sylvia and Greg, the chief operator Pieter and myself. Working conditions and living so much more comfortable, and more for less cost!

View from the kitchen early morning ...

View from my small office.
I do not know what kind of bird it is but it was pretty impressive ...

Another difference for me this year: the car. I could go back and forth between the desktop and the tray, and go at once much more useful.

The main entrance of the house

The shooting lasted 6 days (although I feel a whole month is spent), but the first real wizard c ' has been fired after the 3rd day. Personality conflict (To summarize). The second assistant is passed first. And I was asked to return to the position of the second (although I've never done that). In the absolute task not as complicated as it is mainly to prepare the next day's call sheet (the filming schedule of the day) and thus ensure that all elements of the scenario are present on the leaf (props, sets, special effects), that all necessary actors are well known, and at the right time. Especially short work of thoroughness and attention to detail. Apparently everyone seemed to think I'd do it very well:) The start

1st assistant has really changed at all throughout the atmosphere on the plateau, which in the space of a speech, when the producer announced the news on the morning of Day 4, has gone from "leaded" to "relaxed" . Or how a "grumpy individual" in a group of 50 people can form to himself alone in the air the overall morale ....

So I "changed hats" and put on the "second" for a few days, which also allowed me to spend more time close to the plate and with the team.

Other highlights of the film, a sharp fall of snow (which, I repeat, is unusual in the region, unlike the rest of Canada), which complicated things a bit since one of the episodes that we shot was supposed to happen ... at the end of August ... But it was an opportunity to demonstrate the power of teamwork and using 3 "torches", 2 rakes, it has removed snow from 100 to 200m square on the banks of a lake.

The main intersection I was crossing every day to go into town after the first snowfall

the night after the last day of shooting, he fell approximately 10 cm of snow

my little car at the entrance to the property .

Filming has finished on Wednesday and Thursday I spun a hand to Philip to move some vehicles. The same evening, Catherine invited me to share his room at the Fairmont Empress. Catherine had won some time ago a "gift" for a night at this legendary hotel in Victoria, the perfect opportunity to end our stay on the island.

We had dinner in the evening with Greg and Sylvia, who generously invited, Philip and Will, another member of the team, the brasserie "School" , delicious French restaurant I highly recommend it.

After that, back to the hotel to enjoy the pool and hot tub in the basement, and relive the atmosphere of The Shining in the corridors of our floor ... The next day , breakfast in the Empress Lounge (pancakes completely fluxes), then stroll through the downtown before catching the ferry from Vancouver ... direction 16h

I did not take many pictures during this week no time, so I leave you with these few moments "in bulk", pending official pictures of Sylvie who has worked for some stills ...

Eid Greetings Message Arabic

Let it snow !!!

This morning like every morning when I woke up, I opened the curtains of the room to see the color of the sky. I shoot almost entirely in daylight, and here the weather is not reliable so we organized the day as the morning sky.
And the "Pan!" 15 centimeters of snow everywhere ...
So, I am prepared quickly and I'm out for a stroll a few hours with my camera.
I always wanted to see the beach under the Snow is a concept so crazy, and this is one reason why we love Vancouver (beach / mountain in the same place) and right there I got my money's worth of snow.
Strolling on Kitsilano with 15cm of fresh powder while the last time I was there was with Nathan, Julie and Roman to play in the sand at the water's edge, it's pretty surreal. As
say Grandpa: "Tabarouette, I never saw such a thing!"

Nadine Jansen- Shower

Portraits…

Most of you probably already know, but in addition to this wonderful blog (Awesome Blossom), I also have a blog specially created for "Brice Ferre Photography. This blog is
"A Life at 50mm" . In recent days, ay a lot of movement and I will certainly exceed 1000 subscribers this weekend.

Nothing spectacular either, but the interest of the thing is that on Tumblr (the site that hosts my blog), people who follow a blog can repost the contents of one or two clicks (this is the Above that is the concept of Tumblr).
What is that whenever you post pretty pictures, rather than any only one to send to people, there are potentially 1000 people (for me anyway) that work for you and that rebroadcast the photos etc. ... etc.. (Everything is redirected to your blog each time)
short, the result, each photo posted, there are hundreds or thousands of people who receive it very quickly. It's not bad to make themselves known.

The reason I talk about my photo blog is very simple and has nothing to do with my little digression on Tumblr.
There are now 3 days, I started a new photo series. Series "Fine-Art" quietly continues its merry way but I started a parallel series of portraits. It is not yet visible on my site , but is visible on my blog .
This time, more sailing, more fuss. Black and white, white background and people naturally.
Good as I started three days ago, I have only 3 models, including me (the king of self-portrait), but my week will be loaded and I book people every day.
If you're in the area, then go for a shoot.
idea as my series "Fine-Art" (which is 30 models) is to photograph as many people.
A shot lasts about 15 minutes (that's the beauty of this series) and like the previous one, everything is photographed in natural light, no lights.
Here is the result of my first 3 sessions.

Olivade

  • In the country La Soummam

Paper Rachid Oulebsir
(Edition L'Harmattan)

... The olive harvest is an important moment in the Kabyle peasant life, an ancient tradition that is lost in the mists of time. The entire village that is mobilized, the men and women, young and old, gather to organize Tiwizi (solidarity, mutual aid) under the auspices of the sages and experts.

In the heart of the Ile de France
The olive tree Afneye
"From my olives, I'll do the Amettour , the Greek way
as they say in the language Pascal, "he said .

... The cropping calendar obeys Tamuqint , customary law based on social solidarity whose principle is to always start by widows and needy people this course in view of the technical criteria : Ripe olives and destination (table, oil or dual purpose). The dates so fixed, everyone is informed.
... The day J , the processions begin, in small groups, they will go away, singing brave heart, the T'djmaat * the olive groves that they had previously determined. The festival will last until the end. It's the joy in every village, the year looks good.

  • The olive tree divine Mediterranean

... In ancient Greece , the olive branch was a gift and a gift Goddess Athena which gave victory to Heracles. The city acquired Heracles broadcast the cultivation of olive trees and Acropos taught the art of extracting the oil.

... The Romans associated the olive tree to the goddess Minerva and the birth of Romulus and Remus , legendary founders of Rome born under this tree.

... In Egypt , Isis, the wife of Osiris, had taught his people the respect and olive growing.

... In Algeria when you visit Souk Ahras for the first time, people will certainly lead to the place where Saint Augustine , illustrated Berber Thagaste, used to sit. Was in the shade of an olive tree, it seems that the father and doctor of the Church was doing his meditations and reflections Olive St. Augustine .

... In Kabylia , olive has long been subject of pilgrimages, we came here to seek fertility , just as in Greece and Rome, he was the symbol.

... Nibelle , a friend of the blogosphere, by way of comment, sent me this beautiful poem:
I suggest you enjoy the cuisine here
The olive
Under the boughs of money the Mistral pixie,
whole people, kneeling, slowly caking
To gather piously an ancient treasure.

Then you gush, beautiful light oil,
Under the grip of the press and the tooth of the stone,
Oh, the blood of Olympia, nectar with hints of gold!

Does Vodka Make U Impotent

Where is Brice in "Supernatural" ?

Well first of all, I must dedicate this episode of "Where is Brice" JB
I know it's a big fan of Supernatural and I ' I had thought of him when I was on the board.
This time it's even easier to find me I think. The scene is quite long and, out of context, discussion of the two main characters have absolutely no sense, but hey let's all admit we do not care completely, the game is to find me.
The index of business is: "Paul! A Tourtel!" (click index to be in pictures ...)

soon for an upcoming episode.

How To Construct A Reed Bed

My First Car !

- Should we believe is subscribed to red cars (for those who have known the little ford fiesta Brice ...) -

Monday Trish and Andrew have shared (provisional) their good old Pontiac Sunfire GT. They have indeed acquired a new Hunday, a model more "family" and therefore much more convenient to carry a baby seat. Before we sell it for good, they retain the option to take the car if ever Trish exchange service and has no car. So for now, they put our disposal and officially, we have sold for a symbolic $ 1.

This "transaction" falling steeply since I was at that time in negotiations with Lynn, the production manager of "Troubled Waters" to return to Victoria turn the season 4, but subject to having a vehicle. ...

Andrew and I are gone Tuesday in an agency ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia) to put the car in my name and transfer insurance. In British Columbia, no private insurers, everything about the car (license and insurance) is managed by the provincial office.
In this connection, a small detail not unimportant. I got my French insurer a certificate stating that I had been insured with them for 10 years without incident. Then I got a certified translation into English, for the modest sum of $ 50 anyway, but believe me it's worth it because this certificate enabled me to get a substantial discount (on the order of 40 %) on the monthly cost of insurance ... That's for the small retail logistics flights or potential expats pvtistes reading this:)

short, who said new owner says new plates, and so we've changed that night - amazing how simple procedure, a screwdriver is necessary ....

I present you ... my first car:)

Brice PS: As Andrew and Trish run like crazy (it is a V6 in there anyway) the car has a cold and has lost a brown paint, but it will soon be a "DIY repair on my part. Result in a future post.

Telephonce Disconnection Letter

Where is Brice…!!!

Guess who's back ...?
Yeah!
Well, it's been a long time we have not posted, but the reason is very simple, it has not made things really interesting lately.
worry, things will change.
Melanie is a party today to Victoria for 10 days on a shoot, so I'm sure she'll find fun things to tell soon.
As for me, having sown the invitations to the 4 corners of the city for my Expo tonight, I'll see If my efforts have borne fruit.
I'll tell you more this weekend. Otherwise the side
Hollywood, and Hollywood was pretty much just so I did a lot of stuff on feature films, which delays the section "Where is Brice" about 9 months to 1 year, time so that everything on DVD.
Anyway sometimes I make appearances in soap rotten anyway, just for you.
I'm back in "Unexpected Life", a small social event.
Index, I wear a suit ... and they see me 2 times.
See you soon.
B.
